St. Luke's Pupil Wins City Wide Anti-Dog Fouling Primary Poster Competition!
Children from our school (3rd to 6th Class) competed in a City Council Dog Fouling Awareness poster design competition back in February. There were over 800 entries from across the city in total and..... a child from our school WON the overall competition!!
Former Lord Mayor and local Councillor Joe Kavanagh called to the school today with Michael Sheehan (competition organiser and ) from city hall and our local litter warden Cormac to present the prizes.
We are so proud of everyone for taking part and their hard work was awarded by the council with 8 pupils winning €25 Smyths Toys Vouchers: Aidan Lawton, Julia Twomey, Jessica Takamura Morrison, Adam Smith, Elise Quinn, Corin Russell, Alisa Kinieva and Luke Jordan.
Hannah Gleeson won the runner up for the school prize of a €50 Smyths voucher, a runner up medal and a framed print of her poster.
The school was presented with a framed certificate as the winning school and a prize of €500 for the school.
And finally, the overall winner in the school AND the whole competition was..... Annalise Walsh who was presented with a €100 Smyths Voucher, a framed print of her art and a trophy. Annalise's art has also been made into official posters which will be displayed across the city to raise awareness about dog fouling.
Artwork from across the city will also be on display in Wilton Shopping centre next Monday the 12th of May from 10am-12pm.
What an achievement by everyone!! Well done, we are so proud!!
