Acknowledgement of St. Luke's participation in the NextGenerationEU funded project 2021

1st Jul 2025

St. Luke's NS received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used towards the purchase of 22 iPads, licences and training as we recognised the need to improve our children's access to digital devices and platforms. Our bank of digital technologies and devices has expanded since enabling us to deliver a broad curriculum including digital and ICT skills to the children in St. Luke's.

We are currently taking part in a pilot Universal Design for Learning (UDL) programme for primary schools and have used digital technologies to give children access to multiple means of engaging with and presenting learning. This continues to be transformative in our school and we look forward to extending our engagement with and implementation of UDL in the coming years.

We are greatly appreciative of this funding and have seen it used to the betterment of the educational outcomes for all children in our school.
